Installation instructions for backrests without holes: You will first want to mark the back of the cushion where the screws will be fastened. Then, make small incisions with a razor blade in an "x" shape. This is to ensure that there is no chance for the vinyl to get "caught" in the drill bit. Using a 1/8" drill bit, drill holes in the center of those "x" that you made with the razor blade. The plywood backing inside the cushion is 3/4" thick, so you will know once the drill bit reaches through the plywood. Don't drill any deeper. Once the holes are drilled, simply fasten the cushion to the brackets with the screws using a phillips bit on a drill, or you can even fasten them by hand.
